MyReviewer.com - Frequently Asked Questions

This article represents the beginning of a documentation project, to help people use the site.

What is the website all about?

Put simply, MyReviewer is a place where you can review and discuss almost anything. It was born out of many ideas developed originally for the website DVD Reviewer, only now things are no longer limited to DVDs, and anyone can sign up to place items up for review.

So far we have created templates that make it easy to add DVDs, CDs, Films, Books and Video Games to express yourself about, in addition to adding your own articles, lyrics, and of course images. And we plan to add many more templates as demand requires.

What is with all the tags?

The philosophy of the site is "Tag Everything!" and use as many tags relevant to the item you are posting as possible, whether the item is a discussion, product, image or article. The more relevant tags you add to an item, the easier it is for other people to find.

It also means if someone is only interested in Video Games, then by clicking on the VideoGame tag, they will see all the content most relevant to them. Have a play, it should start to make sense very quickly!

How do I add a Review to an existing item?

Go to the page which contains the item you wish to review, and click the link entitled "Attach Something to This Item". You should be presented with one of various templates which you can change with the drop-down list at the top of the page.

Click on the drop down list and change the entry to "Review", and the boxes below should change to ones suitable for adding a review. You can now enter deep and meaningful thoughts on the item you decided to express your opinion about.

Note that we consider a review to be rather more than a paragraph or two, so if you want to just make a comment, then click on "Add your own comment to this item" instead. Comments on items always appear directly below it, where as reviews exist on a separate page.
