just said to one of the girls
"stop swinging your shirt round your head, when you score at Wembley, then you can do it (unless you're already on a yellow)":)

😂
That was such a final! Wow, what an amazing ending to an amazing tournament.
Watched this in the local pub, and it was just amazing.

yeh, i'm not sure girls running around in underwear was what they were meant to do to imitate their new idols ;)she watched a full match though, which is a first :)yeh, exciting stuff, wish i had bought tickets as soon as they went on sale, but then we weren't to know the tournament would have been such a success.
Next door and my dad won't give it the time of day still though :(

Far more invested in that than the men's.
The Women's game seems to encourage a different feeling.
I really hate Millie Bright when we're playing against her but love the bones of her in the England team, just an absolute rock.
Leah Williamson said more in that post match one or two minutes than I've heard from her in the last twelve months.
Let's hope they don't let the legacy slip.

It's nice to watch an entire tournament without reading about someone letting a firework off out of their arse in Leicester Square, or fan trouble, or booing national anthems. And with every team trying to play football, without tactical victories.

Not sure it's what you meant but the last 5 mins or so of extra time was a tactical victory worthy of Arsenal and Henry at their best.
The ball was never far from Germany's corner flag and was driving them insane.
What's now described as Game management par excellence.

and I guess it was ok for the kid to imitate what she saw on tv :)

RE Millie Bright, she was the player that caught my attention when i saw the women's qualifiers here a few years ago, as she contradicted what many men thought about women's football
1 - bloody good passer of the ball, excellent crosses
2 - I wouldn't have liked to have been on the receiving end of some of those challenges by her :)

Years back took two of my kids to England v Scotland at Prenton Park.
Seats just a couple of rows back near the halfway line.
Can still remember the 'bloody hell' impression as Faye White took ball and player, legally, off the pitch.
Women have been tackling that hard for ages.
Now they've got the time, money and resources to develop the skill side of the game.

not much use now, but just saw a post from Saints on FB, that the women's team is playing at St Mary's, today, at lunch time. I think last season, they played at one of the local lower league teams, with no publicity, only played once at St Mary's for a cup game towards end of the season!

2022/23 Women's tickets
Be part of Southampton FC Women's maiden season in the Barclays Women's Championship!
With more matches set to be played at St Mary's than ever before, be part of history by securing your seat for every fixture.
Women's Season Tickets are £50, with seats reserved on a first-come, first-served basis for St Mary's fixtures.
Fans who have already purchased a season ticket for the men’s team can also enjoy a £10 discount, and Juniors (U18’s) can purchase women’s season tickets for just £10.
one off match adults £8, under 18s = £2
so, drive to city centre, pay to park (cheaper than 3 of us on bus), walk to st mary's, me and kids, that's about £20 for day out (i'll smuggle in food and drinks). I don't mind risking them getting bored after 10 mins for that :)
I'm guessing a lot more clubs will be doing the same this season.
